NEEV: The Arts and Cultural Roots is a community-driven not-for-profit organization based in Milton, Ontario, dedicated to strengthening connections, celebrating heritage, and empowering residents through the arts. We believe that creativity is a bridge — connecting generations, cultures, and experiences — while fostering confidence, belonging, and personal growth.

At NEEV, we bring together artists, families, and community members through inclusive programming, exhibitions, workshops, and initiatives that honour heritage while embracing contemporary voices. Our work also focuses on supporting residents to navigate and thrive within Canadian life, helping both newcomers and long-time residents feel connected, informed, and empowered.

Through our community-led approach, NEEV has become a hub for creative expression, cultural exchange, and meaningful connection, where residents of all ages can learn, share, and grow together.

At NEEV, our work spans across three core areas:

Arts & Culture Programming

• Exhibitions, performances, workshops, and community-led creative experiences that are accessible and inclusive.
• Programming designed to amplify underrepresented voices while honouring heritage and contemporary practices.

Community Building

• Creating safe and inclusive spaces for intergenerational and cross-cultural exchange.

SAMM – South Asian Mommies of Milton

A founding initiative of NEEV: The Arts and Cultural Roots, SAMM fosters connection, creativity, and empowerment through arts, culture, and community dialogue. By centring the voices of women and families, SAMM nurtures intergenerational learning and culturally rich programming.

Expanding Initiatives

NEEV continues to grow with new programs, collaborations, and artist residencies, all designed to increase cultural access, engage diverse audiences, and build capacity within our community.

• Accessibility and Inclusion: Everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background, can participate.
• Community-Led Creation: Residents and artists guide programming and co-create projects.
• Meaningful Partnerships: Collaborating with schools, libraries, cultural organizations, and local government to maximize impact.
• Supporting Integration and Community Navigation: Helping newcomers and long-time residents alike navigate Canadian systems with confidence. NEEV offers programs such as parent support workshops, cultural orientation sessions, and guidance on school systems so that families feel empowered and connected, whether they are new to Canada or have lived here for generations.
• Career Development and Mentorship: In partnership with the Milton Public Library, NEEV launched Career Hour in January 2026, inviting industry leaders and professionals to share insights, guidance, and mentorship with community members of all ages. This initiative fosters career exploration, skill-building, and intergenerational learning, especially for newcomers seeking to navigate local professional landscapes.
• Long-Term Cultural Impact: Nurturing arts and culture that are sustainable, relevant, and lived experiences in our community.
